Shomrei Emunah’s bond with Israel is stronger than ever.
As one of its central values, Shomrei Emunah believes in the religious significance of Medinat Yisrael, the Modern Jewish State of Israel. Through events, shiurim, speakers, and programs, the Israel Committee seeks to find meaningful ways for our kehilla to maintain and build its connection to Eretz Yisrael, Medinat Yisrael, and Am Yisrael. Our shul is also proud to annually partner with Ohr Chadash Academy in hosting Baltimore’s largest family oriented Yom Haatzmaut celebration. In addition to programming, the Israel Committee leads multiple annual tzedakah campaigns to benefit causes in Israel, including our long-standing support of La’Ofek (formerly known as JobKatif).
Speakers and Scholars-in-Residence
Shomrei Emunah regularly hosts renowned Torah scholars, religious leaders, government officials and advocacy experts from Israel.

Supporting our sister city in Eli, Israel
We are proud to partner with the city of Eli and enjoy a long-standing relationship with its residents and communal leaders. Shomrei Emunah recently raised funds for Talmud Torah Hadar-Yosef, a yeshiva in Eli that provides big brother services and schooling to students whose fathers were killed in acts of terror.
Our shul also raised funds to purchase 15 security vests for Eli’s residential patrol service. Members of our shul traveled to Eli for a dedication ceremony.
During their bar mitzvah celebrations at Shomrei Emunah, boys are gifted with a siddur inscribed by the mayor of Eli.
