Dear Shomrei Emunah family:
In two weeks, I will be traveling to Israel to run in my third 10K race, as part of the Jerusalem Marathon, to help support Lema’an Achai. I have been extremely impressed with Lema’an Achai since the first time I met Rabbi Avrohom Leventhal and he told me about their important work. I feel privileged to be able to help them in their amazing approach to tzedaka and chesed.
This unique Israeli chesed organization takes a holistic approach to helping people in need. They look at the whole picture and figure out how to help people help themselves. In addition to providing financial help, they provide job training, counseling, budget services, and debt counseling. They truly represent the Rambam’s principle that the highest level of tzedakah is helping a person stand on his or her own two feet.
I am very excited to be participating again, and I am especially excited to be running the race again with my son Moshe.
I very much appreciate all your support and encouragement the last two times, and with your help, I look forward to another successful race!
